As an experienced Revit user with an insistence for drawing accuracy and clean drawing production, making the transition to a more design focused CAD software from Autodesk Revit was initially jarring with regard to legacy functionality in Autodesk software. The transition to Archicad however was a lot less difficult than expected, and the benefits from the large amount of design focused tools has led to a dramatic increase in the quality of scheme production. The massive amount of beneficial and easily adaptable features (not least of which is the massive object library that boasts an incredible amount of flexibility), has led to quick and easy scheduling, and customizable practical data outputs for all manner of project data tracking. being able to add custom fields for area zones, set up display combinations in terms of presentation styles, information outputs, or drawing detail is spectacular, easy to adapt, and very easy to maintain in terms of office libraries. Advanced features such as photometric modeling, linking with external databases like NBS, or developing thermal models withing the drawing details has led to incredibly efficient outputs in terms of time, an being able to modify or adapt for change. While no software is without limitations, I have found that the output speed from Archicad, from an Architectural perspective at least, is much more efficient than other BIM competitors. Really looking forward to the incredible features announced for Archicad 27! Brendan Dwyer - Qualified Architectural Technologist, Registered Architect, ArchiCAD User 4+ years
